MOZILLA to Develop a Mobile OS !!

The ultimate makers of Firefox, Mozilla is now looking to improve their products . Mozilla corporation is now decided to launch a mobile operating system , which will be like iOS , Android , WP-7 .  The best part of this mobile OS is that it will be completely an open source , and will be used for the development of HTML 5 applications , the company wants to encourage developers to write codes on this platform for applications which will work almost like native apps . It seems like a valiant(brave) effort by Mozilla to bring something new.

Google introduced Chrome OS for a similar purpose , but Mozilla could improve upon it . For those of you who are wondering what this upcoming OS is going to be called ; for now it's known as Boot To Gecko or B2G. These are the plans to write the code , at the same time some codes will be borrowed from Android. However , Mozilla wants to improve upon the idea by developing a mobile OS which would guide to build web apps based on HTML5 .

It will be interesting to see what ultimately Mozilla come up with!!

Google+ have a huge problem with its photo tagging system!!

The most popular social networking site google+ has lead to a huge privacy problem .One of the best features about google+  is ,the way we can manage who see the things we share , with circles .Google+ has beaten Facebook in making it super easy to make sure that only intended people can see our updates.

As Google+ gains many users, a very serious privacy issue has been discovered with the way google+ manages with your photo albums.

Ofcourse google + allows users to keep private albums. In fact private albums are quite important in Google+ because photos taken using an Android device gets uploaded to your private photo album.

As one Google+ user has noticed, it seems like tagging someone on a photo means that he/she can see the whole album even if you have not shared it. This is not actually a bug – but rather a feature in Google+.

Facebook too allows users who have been tagged to see the photo. But people tag others in Facebook photos to let them see it. In the case of Google+ it it a bit different. The Google+ photo album is basically Picassa – the popular photo management tool. Since Picassa has been in existence much before Google+, people do not tag others on Picassa to share – they tag to organize their photos.

So basically what it means is that, if you try to organize your photos in a private album by tagging the people in the photos, not only they will be able to see every photos you in that album, they will be able to share it as well. If it happens with your Instant Upload album – that is the album to which Android devices automatically uploads your photos – others can see all the photos you have taken using your Android device.

This is simply a huge privacy problem.

Google+ is still officially in the field testing phase and let us hope they sort this out.

Games to Google+ Coming SOON...

The most popular and the largest company Google launched Google+, a social networking site 3 weeks ago. Initially, there was only Streaming and uploading of photos and videos and now it has kept a major step towards the applications and games.

As we all know, Facebook is recently seeing a major fall due to the introduction of Google+. It has become like a rival for facebook. To fight against the Google+, facebook has come up with video chatting, group text chatting and enhancements in other stuffs. In the same way, to retain its position in the market, Google has kept a step ahead by introducing applications and games. This feature will be available for all the users very soon.

We being the users, have to see how Google will emerge with games and applications against the facebook's applications and games. All the best for both large social networking sites.

If you require something a little faster then it’s possible to select a 1.8GHz Core i7 chip in the 128GB 11-inch (+$150) and 256GB 13-inch (+$100) models.

As for the Thunderbolt port, it has been added to the right side of the laptop behind a USB 2.0 port. On the 13-inch model there’s also an SD card slot included.

One of the most desired features are: a backlit keyboard. Apple has included a sensor that adjusts the brightness of the light dependent on the lighting. This is combined with a glass multitouch trackpad. The other user-facing feature is of course the screen, which is a super thin LED backlit panel. You get a resolution of 1366 x 768 on the 11-inch and 1440 x 900 with the 13-inch.

As you would expect with any new Apple product, these laptops aren’t cheap. The base 11-inch model is $999 with 64GB on-board storage and 2GB RAM. The 128GB and 4GB 11-inch model takes that price up to $1,199. Moving to the 13-inch model and the price starts at $1,299 for 128GB of storage and 4GB RAM. Sea Ray Unveiled!!!!

Here it is guys....Nokia's very first windows OS mobile. In the video below, Nokia CEO Stephen Elop asks the audience during a presentation to shut down video recording devices (obviously, not everyone does this) and then he announces something “super confidential” — a functioning Windows Phone 7-based Nokia device, codenamed Sea Ray.

Sea Ray

The device is physically very similar to the recently announced MeeGo-based Nokia N9, with one difference: an extra button on the side.

It has 500 new capabilities and features, Nokia claims, from what we see in the presentation, not many of these are Nokia-specific, but it’s an interesting first look at all the WP7 bells and whistles on a Nokia device. Is this is gonna bring about the revolution that the Nokia is craving for??? lets wait and watch....................

Thought it was always known that India would soon incorporate the INR symbol into the ASCII list, but it is now official. The Press information bureau of India has released a statement which says,
In order to promote the new symbol of Rupee i.e. the same has been encoded in Unicode Standard and National Standard ISCII. TukTuk Meter: Save yourself from being overcharged

It is often seen in the metro cities of India, that you get an auto rickshaw or a cab to reach an unknown destination and you get exploited by a round-about trip by your rickshaw-wala just to overcharge you. Sometimes the tuktuk’s meter may be tampered to deceive you into paying more.. This does happen. But now with this new Tuk Tuk Meter, an application for your android/symbian/blackberry smartphone, you can save yourself some extra bucks.

Mindhelix Technologies has brought this new interesting app, called Tuk Tuk Meter which uses GPS to give you the route you’re being taken by. All you need to do is when you get on the auto, you have to press start. The Tuk Tuk Meter will start monitoring the route and display you the same. Once you reach the destination you can just stop it.

The Tuk Tuk meter will give you a summary on the route, distance and time. It also allows user to feed in the local fare charges. Once you set it, the application will also show you the fare of your total journey. This is similar to having your own meter while you board an auto rickshaw or cab.

Tuk Tuk meter is available free and can be downloaded from their website. The following snapshots will pretty much summarize the whole concept.

Hope this application just doesn’t die as like the previous ones that came in the market.
