Different wallpapers in each workspace - Ubuntu 11.04


Unity, a beautiful graphical user interface provided to the world of Linux. Ubuntu 11.04 provided this for the users. Lets see how we can have different wallpapers in different workspaces using Ubuntu 11.04 with unity interface.


Steps goes as given below :-

  • Disable desktop icons. To do this, run this command from the terminal. [stextbox id="black"]gconftool-2 --type bool --set /apps/nautilus/preferences/show_desktop false[/stextbox]



  • Run these commands now. [stextbox id="black"]sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager
    sudo apt-get install compiz-fusion-plugins-extra[/stextbox]



  • Open CompizConfig Settings Manager by searching as "CCSM".




  • In categories, go to Utility and then click on wallpaper.



  • Check Enable Wallpaper option and add different wallpapers using new button.




That's it. You will have different wallpapers in each workspaces as shown below.
