SMSBackup is a software for your android that enables you to save your SMS into your Gmail inbox. Once you set it up, it automatically synchronizes your SMS messages to your GMAIL so that you can delete them from your capacity overloaded smartphone. To enable SMSBackup, you have to enable IMAP on your Gmail account settings. Here's how you do it.
Go to Mail Settings.
Go to 'Forwarding and POP/IMAP' tab.
Tick the 'Enable IMAP' checkbox.
Now you can just install the SMSBackup on your android and register it with your GMail and every SMS that you receive or send will be automatically synced to the cloud (GMail) and all this is done in the background.
