Solution for "Sitemap Submit Error" in Google Webmaster

We always tend to get error when we do something initially and when we come to know that the solution for the problem is very simple, then we feel sad about ourselves because at initial stage, we were not able to find out the solution. This is obvious with everyone.

Most common problem which you can find in Google webmaster while trying to submit sitemap of your website is "Paths don't match We've detected that you submitted your Sitemap using a URL path that doesn't include the www prefix (for instance, http://example.com/sitemap.xml). However, the URLs listed inside your Sitemap do use the www prefix (for instance, http://www.example.com/myfile.htm."

This problem is because you might have submitted wrong sitemap format or because of non www content. So to get your sitemap verified and submitted, carry out the following steps.




  • Go to dashboard of your website and then to to general settings. Here change the Site URL to look as http://www.example.com.


Note : www is very very essential.


  • Then enter your website URL for which you want to create sitemap.





  • Now select frequency, Last modification and Priority.





  • Now click on start.





  • Download sitemap.xml file and upload it to your website hosted htdocs folder.



  • Now go to Google webmaster and submit. It will automatically gets submitted.
